A Day Trip From Fes to Volubilis, Moulay Idriss Zerhoun and Meknes
For those who have short time and are thirsty for travel and adventure, this is more likely to be the trip you are looking for, through which you will have the chance to recognize a perfect blend of experience, lifestyle, religion, meditation and enjoyment.
The first station in our excursion will be the Morocco’s most preserved Roman town Volubilis . Which dates back to the 300 B.C therefore, it has been considered the oldest Moroccan cities according to the excavations discovered there, and is recognized a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The next stop in our expedition will be the nearby Moulay Idriss, the holiest city that holds a special value in the hearts of the Moroccan people, it was the place where Moulay Idriss arrived bringing the Islam Religion with him, and founding the country’s first real dynasty.
Later on, we will move to Meknes city the so-called “Moroccan Versailles” an impressive city in a Spanish-Moorish style, surrounded by huge stone walls punctuated by historic doors.
Although it is a modern, vibrant city, it is quieter and more laid-back than the other Imperial Cities in the Kingdom.
Once the trip ends, we will drive back to Fez.
