Fes to the Sahara of Merzouga, Aït Benhaddou kasbah, Ouarzazate and Marrakech in 5Days


The Desert tour starts from Fez and ends in Marrakech, You will enjoy the camel trekking and sandboarding experiences and overnight in a nomad camp in Sahara.
From the amazing Desert dunes to the gorges, kasbahs, the Atlas studio in ouarzazate city and ending your trip in the Red city of Morocco, Marrakech.

Day 1 : Travel from Fez to the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes in the Desert of Merzouga across the middle atlas Mountains

In the morning you will be picked by your private driver from your lodging to set up your journey to the errg chebbi dunes in Merzouga Desert, the doorstep of the Moroccan Sahara.

Your first stop will be Ifrane, a town and ski resort in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco ( Switzerland of Morocco).

Then, you’ll experience on route the highmile of the Middle Atlas mountains, the northern most of three Atlas Mountains chains.

The next exciting place will be Azrou, a Moroccan municipality in the province of Ifrane located at a strategic crossroads between the Middle Atlas and the High Atlas.

Crossing the deep cedar forests – the largest in North africa – where you’ll see Barbary apes ( Moroccan Macaques).

You will continue your travel to Midelt along the magnificent hills and mountains of the Atlas.

Midelt it’s a city which serves as the commercial center of a large agricultural hinterland.

you will have your Lunch at a local restaurant.

You’ll be heading to Erfoud ( The old Tafilalet) through the city of Errachidia : administrative and military center built by the French in the early 19th century.

On the road to the Erfoud, you will discover the panoramic view of Ziz Valley and the source of Meski ( Ain Maski ).

Dinner and Overnight in Erfoud.

Day 2 :A visit to the museum of fossils in Erfoud, then to the Desert of Merzouga.

You will begin your day in Erfoud, it is an oasis town in the Sahara Desert of Morocco, a mythical space to take pictures for your memories.

You’ll pay a visit to the Erfoud’s museum of fossils and you you’ll fancy the Amazing Kasabah of the city of Rissani and its wild environment.

For lunch, we suggest a local dish called « Al Madfouna » the Moroccan Saharan pizza.

After expolring Rissani, you will continue your tour to Merzouga Desert to Watch the grace of sun set in the Erg Chebbi sand dunes while riding camels.

The breathtaking beauty of the sandy hills and the panoramic of sunset and sun rise remain the features of the Erg Chebbi area.

Meanwhile , you can relax on the sandy hills.

Dinner and overnight stay in the dunes of Merzouga desert.

Day 3 : From Merzouga to Ouarzazate passing through Dades Valley and Skoura

We recommend you to wake up a bit early to enjoy the the sunrise over the erg chebbi dune while riding camels.

Right after that, you will leave Merzouga and head for the Todgha gorges, a very popular canyon in the eastern part of the High Atlas Mountains, without forgetting the Dades Valley for some panoramic views.

Your next Station will be Kalaat M’Gouna, where the local inhabitants celebrate nationally the annual festival of roses.

Explore the surroundings of the wilderness area, your driver will be at your disposal.

Next, you will head for The oasis of Soukora, a palm grove of 25 km², it is one of the few groves of countries still inhabited and cultivated classified as international heritage of UNESCO.

Continue your travel to Ouarzazate city where You will spend the night.

Day 4 : From Ouarzazate to Ait BenHaddou then Marrakech, the Red City of Morocco

After a short visit to the Atlas film studios where many films have been filmed, then the kasbah of Taourirt, you will proceed to the Ait benhaddou Village one of the UNISCO world heritage.

Back in the days, this village used to be traditional junction of caravans combining Marrakech with the south of Sahara , merchandizing both of goods and slaves.

Before carrying on to your destination to the red city of Marrakech, you will have your lunch.

Afterwards , you will traverse the Tichka Pass of the High Atlas where the immerse mountain hillsides are constellate with mud lodging sheltering Berber families.

Once reaching Marrakech you will be displaced to your hotel where you will be served your dinner and spend the night.

Day 5 : A guided Visit to Marrakech City

During a guided tour through the narrow streets of the Old Town of Marrakech’s , you’ll discover its most famous sights.

Known as the ‘Ochre City’, Marrakech lies in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains giving the city a stunning backdrop.

Your perosnnal guided tour of the city’s main sights includes the fortified Old Town and modern area ‘new city’ , built by the French at the begining of the 20th century.
You will enjoy and experience the sights, sounds and flavours of Marrakech at leisure.

You’ll start your visit by the twelfth-century Koutoubia Mosque, located in the south west of medina quarter,it was completely built under the reign of the Almohad Yqub Almansour.

The city is still best known for the Djemaa el Fna, its incredible and stunning main square – the largest in Morocco.

The square is filled with entertainers during the day – acrobats, musicians, dancers, snake charmers, wide-eyed story tellers and instantly recognisable water sellers.

At night the square is transformed into a huge open-air restaurant as it fills with stalls selling all different types of Moroccan various delicious food.

You will be the guest of 19th century Bahia palace, originally built for Si Moussa, a previous slave who became the chamberlain of King Moulay Hassan.

Besides, you will stop by El Badhi palace as well as the Mellah (the Jewish quarter).

Going north, you will head for the Fascinating souks ” spice mountains,piles of vividly coloured cloth, and herbalists with a cure for every ailment imaginable”.

In the evening you will have dinner and enjoy a traditional entertainment in a local restaurant.

Your private driver will take you to the airport of Marrakech or to your choice of destination.
